I live and work in the Rutland village of Belton. I source most of my wood from the indigenous woods of the nearby Rockingham Forest.
My main inspiration, however, comes from the various types of hardwood I collected whilst living in Africa, such as olive, stinkwood and eucalytpus.
In carving I focus on the natural forms and colours present in the grain of the wood.
I try to express in my work my reaction to the timeless peace and calm I feel in nature. Here are a selection of images of recent work and a glimpse into my workshop.
